Clear View Bars
Our Clear View Burglar Bars offer a modern security alternative to steel security bars. The clear view bars are a strong barrier against intruders and do not compromise your view.
Polycarbonate is a very tough material and is very light in weight. It is flexible and does not rust so therefore requires little maintenance (just a simple wipe with a damp cloth or mild soap and water).
Our clear burglar bars are 50mm wide (of the thickest in the industry) and 5mm thick and are installed into steel tubes bolted into the window reveal space. Our clear bars are UV protected so stand up against the African sun and do not yellow over time.

The Clear Burglar Bars and Armed Burglar Bars offers you the following features:
- Bars are made from transparent polycarbonate construct, which has Ultra High Impact, with a rating of 100.
- It is UV Protected on both sides, which means no yellowing effects from the harsh sun.
- The polycarbonate strip is among the thickest (5mm) and broadest (50mm) in the industry and offers the added resilience corresponding to those robust dimensions.
- 5-year guarantee and once off free repair service.
- Polyester powder coated steel tubes, available in a variety of colours – fade resistant and stylish.
- To reduce the opportunity to tamper, the spacing between the bars is only about 100mm (or 150mm from fixing to fixing).
What you need to know about the Clear View Burglar Bar:
- The bars are secured to fully galvanised steel tubes using stainless-steel button-head screws fastened to zinc-plated rivnuts. These steel tubes frame the bars and are bolted securely (using coach screws and UL8 rawl plugs) to the window reveal.
- For further security, a stainless-steel washer, 1.6mm gauge, is placed at each of the fixings, between the domed head of the screw and the bar itself, to reinforce the fixing joint.
- For further strength and protection, galvanised steel parts are used (rust resistant).
Armed Clear View Burglar Bars:
Our armed clear view bars are fitted with smart technology that can be integrated with a 24/7 active alarm monitoring system. The polycarbonate burglar bars are a physically strong barrier and when connected to the alarm system provide an additional warning system of possible intrusion.
The burglar bars are fitted with integrated sensors and are designed to only activate when forced or attempted to break through. The impact will activate the alarm alerting the occupants and well as the armed response company (if connected) that there is a possible intruder.
The armed polycarbonate bars are always activated and remain armed even if your alarm system is deactivated.
These burglar bars are widely used in businesses and homes where security and aesthetics are important.

- The burglar bars are secured into aluminium tubes. These tubes frame the bars and are bolted securely into the window reveal.
- Once the bars are fitted it is connected to the alarm monitoring system.

- Horizontal Bars comprise of square steel tubes; 25mm x 12mm x 1.6mm gauge and Vertical Bars; square 10mm x 10mm solid steel bars.
- They have corrugated solid steel pins which fix the horizontal bars to the wall, and are solidly fastened using effective epoxy glue.
- Plastic collar ends add an aesthetic finish.
- They are zinc-electroplate-galvanised for rust protection (hot-dip galvanising, for added protection from rusting, available on request).
